Staff
Small Wonders Inc. strives to hire employee’s who are warm,
friendly, and experienced. We perform background checks
from the Michigan State Police (I-CHAT) as well as the
Department of Human Services (abuse & neglect) on all of
our staff.
Each classroom has a staff member that is the designated
“Lead Teacher”.  The Lead Teacher is responsible for
overseeing all the assistant teachers in the classroom as
well as creating and following a daily schedule,
implementing the curriculum, and planning the children’s
activities. All of our Lead Teachers have education and/or
degrees in Child Care Development or an Education
related field. Lead and Assistant Teachers are all required
to attend 12 hours of training per year. These trainings are
on child related topics such as: Safe sleep for infants,
shaken baby syndrome, child discipline, health and safety,
curriculum, working with parents, and licensing rules.
All of our staff is CPR and First Aid certified. They have also
been trained in Blood Borne Pathogens, health care
policies, and prevention of the spread of illnesses.
Our teachers work hands on with the children. We believe
that children learn through play, so to enhance their
learning the teachers get down at the children’s level  and
“play” with them while asking open ended questions.  We
are not afraid to get messy or wear a funny hat! We
encourage the creativity and new ideas that each individual
child has. We strive to make this the best learning
experience possible.
